Yukon and Yukon XL come in SLE, SLT, Hybrid and luxury Denali models. SLE and SLT offer rear-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive that can be left engaged on dry pavement and includes low-range gearing.
Standard on 2WD SLE models is a 295-hp V8. A 320-hp V8 is optional on those and is standard on other Yukons. Available on XL is a 355-hp V8. These engines use a 4-speed automatic transmission and have GM's Active Fuel Management that saves fuel by deactivating four cylinders while cruising. Denali gets a 380-hp V8 and 6-speed automatic transmission. ABS and traction/antiskid control with rollover sensors are standard. GM's self-adjusting Autoride suspension is available on SLT, standard on Denali. Standard on SLT and Denali, and optional on SLE, are curtain side airbags that cover all seating rows and include rollover deployment.
Yukons seat up to nine passengers, Denalis up to eight. On all, the 2nd- and 3rd-row seats fold and the 3rd row is removable. As in GM's other large SUVs, a spring release option flips the 2nd-row seats to provide 3rd row access.
OnStar assistance is standard. A power liftgate, remote engine start, rear obstacle detection, and power-adjustable pedals are standard on Denali, available on other models. DVD entertainment and a navigation system with rearview camera are also available.
